CT Scan

CT, which is most commonly known as a CAT Scan, uses special X-ray equipment to obtain image data and then uses computer processing of the information to show a cross-section of the body.

CT is useful in showing several types of tissue – lung, bone, soft tissue and blood vessels. Using our specialized equipment and expertise to create CT scans of the body, Radiologists can more easily diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

Common CT procedures include:

Cardiac. Evaluates the coronary arteries for plaque and narrowing and is complimentary to heart catheterization.

Head. Evaluates the brain for injury, tumors, strokes and skull fractures.

Abdomen/Pelvis. Evaluates all of the internal organs and intestines for abnormalities, such as pancreatitis, appendicitis, cancer and kidney stones.

Chest. Evaluates the chest for lung tumors, pneumonia, blood clots and aneurysms of the aorta.

Other CT Scans. PET/CT, Carotid arteries, Radiation planning and biopsies.
